Alternative Pathways at Kent

At Kent, we recognize that some learners need extra support. That’s why we have pathways that provide additional services for an additional cost. This gives us the opportunity to find the right educational fit for each child. All children have unique needs and learning profiles, and our integrated model of academic and therapeutic service offerings is designed accordingly. Our multisensory approach to teaching and learning, adjunct therapeutic services offered to those who need this additional support, and an available intensive therapeutic environment that offers a full array of academics ensure that there is a place for all children at Kent! In partnership with families, we strive to provide programming that prepares our students to lead happy, healthy, and successful lives.

Modified Learning Path
Students on our Modified Learning Path can stay in the classroom with their same-aged peers while receiving academic lessons at their personal academic level. This allows the focus to be on individual growth and positive, developmentally appropriate social interaction.

Transition Path
Students on the Transition Path typically struggle with anxiety and/or have developed an adverse reaction to certain subject areas. At Kent, we can create a safe environment where these students feel supported and assisted in slowly transitioning to perceived difficult tasks while still moving forward academically.
